About the Non Surgical Facelift

Tighten and Restructure the Contour of the Face

The non surgical facelift is a treatment which lifts and tightens sagging skin tissue, using threads made of Polydioxanone (PDO). The threads introduce them into the deeper layers of the skin. Once introduced, the threads produce 3 effects in the skin:

  • Instant skin lifting

  • Cellular renewal, through collagen stimulation

  • Skin tightening by contracting fat tissue

In other words, the non surgical facelift works by using dissolvable stitches. The results of the non surgical facelift are visible immediately and continuing to improve for 4-6 months after the procedure. Results are not permanent but can last for up to 2 years.

During the non surgical facelift, small, barbed threads are inserted beneath the surface of the skin on the outer sections of the face, anchoring the skin from within and pulling the skin tighter, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It is performed under local anesthesia. The recovery time is like that of a standard facelift: patients are required to be careful with their movements and eat only soft foods for 2 to 3 weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are PDO Threads?

PDO thread lifts are minimally invasive procedures which have three effects on the skin:
  1. Instant skin and soft tissue lifting Of the face
  2. Cellular renewal with collagen stimulation
  3. Skin tightening
PDO threads produce a selective inflammatory response which strongly encourages natural collagen production. This desired response is the principle behind many of our aesthetic procedures including Fractora treatments, microneedling and Forma.
During your private consultation, we will identify the areas of your face that have skin laxity or sagging of the soft tissues. These are that would benefit from a lifting procedure.
Under local anesthetic, the PDO threads are inserted via sharp or blunt tip needles (called cannulas) into different layers of the skin of the face. Once inserted, the threads anchor the skin and lift it upwards. The excess threads are then removed.Depending on the areas treated, the procedure may last 30-60 minutes. There may be some discomfort during the procedure. After the procedure, most patients will feel tenderness to the area treated. There may be discomfort when chewing or smiling. Swelling and bruising are common. These side effects may last 1-2 weeks.

What is a non surgical facelift (PDO Thread Lift)?

PDO stands for Polydioxanone. It’s a biocompatible, absorbable surgical
suture commonly used in medicine for wound stitches and during surgeries. It is one of the safest materials for use in the body. Your skin fully absorbs the suture within 4 to 6 months.

Am I a good candidate for non surgical facelift?
