As days go by, our skin takes a beating. Weather, exposure to sun, dirt and contaminants, and the aging process all contribute to changes in skin texture.
Thankfully, microdermabrasion treatment at your leading Ottawa laser clinic can help restore your skin’s glow, texture, and appearance.
Our microdermabrasion treatment uses a controlled flow of crystals in a non-invasive procedure to gently abrade and exfoliate the surface of the skin. This abrading helps remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells, resurfacing and exfoliating the skin and unclogging pores, revealing youthful, glowing skin beneath.
In addition to its use as an exfoliator and means of restoring rough and damaged skin, microdermabrasion is also a perfect complement to other skin treatments, enhancing the effects of other treatments.
At SKINS Derma Care, we offer our clients variations on microdermabrasion treatment to better meet their needs and skin care goals. Your skin is soft and revived in as little as three treatments!
Treatment and Pricing Details
The standard in non-invasive, zero-downtime skin resurfacing treatments, microdermabrasion is ideally suited to exfoliating the skin’s uppermost layers while stimulating collagen production and reducing the appearance of large pores. This treatment removes oil, dirt, and bacteria in the process, leaving skin healthier and with a glowing, youthful appearance. Ideal for acne-scarred skin and as a complement to other treatments.
Microdermabrasion add-on $50
This microdermabrasion option is combined with another service to provide the added benefits of exfoliation and enhance immediate results.
Frequently Asked Questions
Am I an ideal candidate for microdermabrasion?
Are you an adult in good health, with few skin complications? Then you’re an ideal candidate for microdermabrasion! This treatment works very well on damaged skin, especially with sun or acne damage, and can help reduce visible signs of aging. Microdermabrasion also works for all skin types and tones.
If you have deep scars, active acne, sunburns, rosacea, eczema, or an auto-immune system disorder, then you should avoid microdermabrasion until symptoms subside.
What does treatment feel like?
Most patients report a heat or warmth during treatment, along with mild discomfort during the abrasion process. These effects quickly fade, however. In fact, treatment is sometimes compared to the sensation of sandpaper rubbing your skin.
When will I see results?
Immediately! Microdermabrasion is sometimes referred to as a “lunchtime face lift” as its results are apparent very soon after treatment. Better still, treatment can easily be done during a 30-minute window, depending on the target area and extent of the treatment. That being said, we do recommend a minimum of 5 to 8 treatments spaced 7 to 10 days apart* for optimal results, especially in the treatment of acne scars and discoloration.
Is there any downtime?
Microdermabrasion treatments have no downtime. You can return to your regular routine immediately after treatment, and can even apply makeup and other cosmetics immediately afterwards.
*Results may vary from person to person based on body size, body type, and other factors.
