Laser Vein Removal
About Laser Vein Removal Treatment
Spider veins and telangiectasia (visible veins) are a frustratingly common sign of aging. Leg veins and facial veins are commonly removed. These veins are an issue affecting over 80% of women, not to mention many men as well.
Thankfully, there is a solution.
Using SKINS Derma Care’s Cutera® Nd:YAG laser system, it’s never been easier or more comfortable to safely treat these frustrating veins. By delivering heat energy to these dilated blood vessels, the laser system forces them to coagulate and collapse, eventually dissolving as the body disposes of them. This treatment is comfortable and features minimal downtime.
Our trained specialists work diligently to ensure your comfort throughout treatment. If you’re frustrated and feel self-conscious because of these veins, laser vein treatment is an amazing treatment option that can help you regain confidence in your skin.
As with every laser treatment at our clinic, we provide a detailed consultation to determine the best course of treatment to help you get the results you want.

Frequently Asked Questions
What results can I expect from laser vein removal?
While you will notice an immediate difference in the appearance of unwanted veins, optimal results vary from patient to patient. On average, initial treatments will resolve between 60% and 80% of unwanted veins. We’ll consult with you to determine an ideal number of treatments to get the results you’re looking for.
Am I a good candidate for laser vein treatment?
Healthy individuals with light or dark skin tones and colours are ideal candidates for laser vein treatment. Pregnant women are not ideal candidates, nor are individuals prone to blood clots. If you have a blood disorder such as hemophilia, a photosensitivity disorder, diabetes, or are currently taking medications to treat these issues, you should not receive laser vein removal.
How can I prepare for treatment?
Remove all makeup and moisturizers from the targeted area before you come in for treatment. We also recommend avoiding aspirin or other blood-thinning medications before treatment to ensure your comfort throughout. Our clinicians also suggest avoiding alcohol for two days prior to treatment. Wear loose-fitting clothing to wear after treatment finishes.
What aftercare is needed?
Take fifteen minutes for a good walk after treatment. Avoid strenuous physical activity for 2 weeks after treatment, and avoid direct sunlight exposure of the treated area for at least 2.5 weeks after treatment. You can use ice packs to help improve your comfort after treatment. As vessels coagulate, they can become stiff and uncomfortable. Compression stockings can help improve patient comfort. We recommend using Tylenol for pain management, as it does not thin blood like aspirin, Advil, or ibuprofen.
What are the advantages of laser vein treatment over sclerotherapy?
Laser vein treatment is a much more comfortable treatment than sclerotherapy, which involves injecting a sclerosing serum into targeted veins to destroy them. If you’re at all uncomfortable with needles, laser vein treatment is an obvious alternative. Recovery times are also much shorter with laser vein treatment.
