Botox injections in Kanata

Botox® Cosmetic injections target dynamic wrinkles, which are caused by repeated facial movements and everyday expressions. As we age, our faces develop fine lines from repeated smiles, frowns, and squints.

Botox® works by blocking a chemical in our bodies that enables muscle contraction. Blocking this contraction helps reduce wrinkles, such as crow’s feet, smile lines, and brow lines.

But Botox® isn’t just effective at reducing facial lines. This treatment can help reshape and redefine the face and neck by helping masseter muscles in the jaw relax, and can even help shape the neckline.

Finally, repeated treatment has a marked anti-aging effect on the skin around the treatment area, restoring a youthful look and feel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I an ideal candidate for Botox® Cosmetic?

If you’re looking to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, then you’re likely an ideal candidate. There are no contraindications for Botox® Cosmetic treatment, but you should avoid using any sort of medication that thins your blood around the time of your injections. This will help reduce the likelihood and potential for bruising.

How exactly does Botox work?

Botox® injectables are neuromodulators. This means they affect the transmission of neurotransmitters. In this case, Botox® directly targets the chemical released that tells muscles to contract. By blocking this action, targeted Botox® injections help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles caused by repeated muscle contractions.

Is Botox® safe?

Yes! Botox® is an FDA-approved treatment for fine lines and wrinkles, as well as migraines caused by temporomandibular joint disorder and bruxism. In fact, Botox® can even help treat excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis. Part of the concern many have over Botox® come from the fact that it uses a modified, safe type of botulinum toxin. Thankfully, Botox® is doctor-approved and entirely safe to use when administered by a trained professional.

When will I see results from treatment?

Typically, you will see some results in the four or five days immediately following treatment. For optimal results, a course of treatments as recommended by your clinician (for example, regular treatment every four months) will help you get the look you want.

How long do results last?

Results last up to five months, depending on the patient. A regular treatment schedule can help ensure lasting results, provided you don’t skip a treatment.

Are there any risks or side effects?

Botox® is extremely safe. The leading side effect is minor bruising or muscle weakness surrounding the treatment area, but effect resolves quickly, and is mitigated entirely by proper injection techniques with an expert clinician.

*Results may vary from person to person based on body size, body type, and other factors.
